Meet Dr. Melanie Clark

Dr. Melanie D. Clark was raised in Rigby, Idaho. The impact on her own life as a child getting glasses and contact lenses made her realized how much an Optometrist can improve a patient’s life. After earning a Bachelor’s of Biology degree from Idaho State University, Dr. Clark had the privilege of going to The Ohio State University where she graduated with her Doctorate of Optometry degree. During her time at The Ohio State University, she served as president of the OSU Lions Club and as SVOSH Lions Club Liaison. This gave her the opportunity to travel to both Nicaragua and Bolivia to provide free vision care and glasses to those in need. Her externships included the Columbus Veterans Affairs Hospital and Eye Specialists of Ohio where she provided visual and medical services for patients of all ages. Her professional skills include ocular disease management, advanced contact lens fitting, low vision rehabilitation, LASIK/Cataract care, and emergency/trauma care. She also specializes in slowing the progression of myopia, with glasses and contacts. She also has experience in orthokeratology (Ortho-K). Dr. Clark has a true passion for helping patients who have had their vision impacted by eye diseases. She also believes in the importance of compassionate care with an emphasis on patient education. In her spare time, Dr. Clark enjoys camping, fly fishing, creating art with stained glass, sewing, world traveling, and spending time with her husband Todd and two dogs.
